Constructs

Construct is a broad term used to define any creature that is created through the use of Ninjutsu. This includes, but is not limited to, Elemental Clones and Golems. Unless noted otherwise within the technique, they will follow the rules laid out in this system.

Creation

Constructs follow the same rules for activation as any other Ninjutsu, however, they typically do not have an ongoing Chakra Cost, instead, they only require concentration and the upfront chakra required to create them.

Note

While it is possible to create a Construct prior to a scene, keep in mind that your Maximum Chakra will be reduced for as long as it is created. Additionally, at the start of any combat, or on the first turn they are created, the Construct will not get an Action. However, they will still be able to use a Move Action or Reaction.

Maximum Constructs

When using a technique that can create Constructs, some are capable of creating multiple. The maximum for how many Constructs a technique can create is based on the Jutsus rank.

Maxconstructs.png

Capstones double the maximum, for example, an S-Rank Capstone could create up to 30.

Chakra Cost

When creating Constructs, you must pay an amount of Chakra to create each Construct based on the rank of the technique, however, it scales a little differently from normal Jutsu. Refer to the following table for Construct Chakra Costs.

Note

These Chakra costs are in addition to the normal Activation and Ongoing costs of the Jutsus Rank that was used to make the Constructs. For example, if you used a B-Rank technique to make 3 Constructs you would have to pay the normal 15 Chakra and 10 Ongoing per turn in addition to the 45 Chakra for the Constructs, for a total of 60 Chakra upfront and an additional 10 per turn.

Minimum Chakra Costs

Construct Techniques require quite a bit more Chakra to use than most, so even if you are only creating a single Construct, there will be a minimum Chakra cost as listed in the table below.

Minimumchakracostconstruct.png

Capstone adds 50% to the minimum Chakra Cost, for example, an S-Rank Capstone would have a minimum Chakra cost of 300.

Stats

Constructs typically only have BOD and SPD Attributes, however, some exceptions do exist, for example if you were wanting to create a ninjutsu capable construct you would need it to have POW. Each Rank of a Jutsu will have a limited number of attribute points to determine its maximum limits, which are already done for the cannon jutsu list techniques, however customs will have their own guidelines.

Note

Some Constructs are able to have their own Chakra Pools by sharing some of the creators, such as Shadow Clones. Even if they have the benefit of copying the users stats, a construct cannot benefit from passive chakra regeneration from Renewing Wellspring or Legendary Chakra Control.

Attribute Caps by Jutsu Rank

The following table will list how many AP you can use to set the maximum limit for the Constructs Attributes, but does not dictate how many points they actually get in each, that will be explained later.

[File:MaxpossibleAPconstruct.png]]

Capstones add to the max Jutsu Rank limit, for example an S-Rank Capstone would have a maximum cap of 60 in any one attribute and would have 90 Points to Distribute.

Example

Earth Golem, being a B-Rank Technique, would have a total of 45 Points to distribute to determine its Attribute Caps and has a max in any one attribute of 30. Earth Golem, being a jutsu on the list, has its Attribute Cap Distribution already done and looks like this. 30 Max BOD and 15 Max SPD.

Note

The Maximum Attribute Cap is just that, the maximum that the construct can reach. It does not mean that it will always have that value.

Attribute Points

Constructs don’t get points to spend, instead they scale directly off of your POW. Their Attributes are each equal to your POW, up to their maximum.

Example

If you had 20 POW and created an Earth Golem, it would have 20 BOD and 15 SPD. If you had 10 POW when creating one, it would have 10 BOD and SPD. If you had 50 POW when creating one, it would have 30 BOD and 15 SPD.

Attacks

Constructs tend to be extremely simple in their methods of attacks, only having very rudimentary Combat Skills. Their damage for these attacks is also more limited, treated the same as raw Taijutsu or Combat Skills, without any Base Power added from the rank of the Jutsu that made them.

There are some exceptions to this, such as the Water Beast, which has two special attacks, a large sweeping AoE and a targeted blast of water. The water blast attack would be treated as a B-Rank Jutsu, scaling off of the Constructs BOD, while the sweeping attack would be treated as a B-Rank AoE, also scaling on its BOD.

Example

An Earth Golem with 20 BOD would punch with a DR of 20, if it had 30 BOD, it would have a DR of 30 etc

Wounds

Constructs operate on a simplified version of the wounds system, due to not being alive, they can only suffer Minor Wounds, but after enough Minor Wounds build up, they will be destroyed. The number of wounds they can endure depends on the rank of the technique.

When using a technique that can create multiple Constructs, the number of wounds is divided among the Constructs and Rounded Down. For example, if you used a C-Rank Technique and made 3 Constructs, each would have a Max Wounds of 5.

Constructsmaxwounds.png

Capstones multiply the max Wounds, for example an S-Rank Capstone Construct would have a total of 150 Wounds available that would be evenly distributed among the constructs.

Damage level to Minor Wound levels

Refer to this table to determine the number of Minor Wounds the Construct suffers instead of actually receiving higher wound levels like a player would.

Armour

Some Constructs may be treated as though they have Armour of some level, be sure to check their rules when using them.

Creating Custom Construct Jutsu

Constructs can have various other benefits, like special attacks, or possibly even the ability to use Ninjutsu. Some examples will be given in this section, but when it comes to creating custom Construct Jutsu, it is possible to create other effects.

Starting at B-Rank, a Construct Jutsu can have additional benefits depending on its Rank, for lower rank Construct Jutsu to get differing benefits they would need to sacrifice something else. Otherwise, these benefits work much the same as they do for creating other custom jutsu.

Extra Benefits by Jutsu Rank

BenefitsConstructs.png

Capstones add to the max benefits, for example an S-Rank Capstone Construct would have 4 total extra benefits.

Attribute Boosts

Attribute Boosts for Constructs raises one of their attributes by the listed amount, but cannot go above their maximum. If you have enough Benefits, this can be taken multiple times, including taking it more than once for the same attribute.

AP BoostsConstruct.png

Capstone bonus is applied on top of the rank bonus. Example; an S-Rank Capstone would give a total of +20.

Maximum Attribute Increase

This will increase the maximum for the attributes on the Construct by the listed amount. If you have enough Benefits, this can be taken multiple times, including taking it more than once for the same attribute. However, the maximum an attribute can be boosted by is double its starting max.

MaxAPincreaseConstruct.png

Capstone bonus is applied on top of the rank bonus. Example; an S-Rank Capstone would give a total of +20.

Secondary Stat Boosts

Secondary Stats include things like Striking Speed, or Damage Rating. Still useful, and powerful boosts to get, but not quite as powerful as a raw attribute increase.

Secondstatboostconstruct.png

Capstone bonus is applied on top of the rank bonus. Example; an S-Rank Capstone would give a total of +30.

Chakra Armour

Chakra Armour refers to techniques to provide a protective layer around the user that reduces the amount of damage they take from attacks. This follows the same rules as the armour items.

ChakraArmorConstruct.png

Capstone bonus is applied on top of the rank bonus. Example; an S-Rank Capstone would give a total of +40.

Special Attacks

Some form of a unique attack that only hits a single opponent, these are treated as being one rank lower than the Jutsu to create the Construct for their Base Power, and follow the DR rules as normal otherwise.

Example

If you created a S-Rank Capstone Golem with an Area of Effect special attack, that attack would be treated as an A-Rank AoE for calculating its DR, and depending on the attack and the Golem, would scale on either BOD or POW.

Maximum Wounds Increase

Some constructs have a much higher level of durability than others, represented by additional wounds.

Maxwoundsincreaseconstruct.png

Capstones add to the max Wounds, for example an S-Rank Capstone Construct would have a total of 60 Additional Wounds divided evenly between all constructs.

Regenerating

Some Constructs are capable of being repaired on the fly, by putting additional chakra into them you can repair a number of their wounds. The number of wounds and the chakra cost are both based on the rank of the technique. Constructs with this benefit will repair once for free each turn, but any additional repairs will cost chakra and take an Action.

Constructregen.png

Capstone bonus is applied as a multiplier. Example; an S-Rank Capstone would cost 40 Chakra and would repair 12 wounds.

Ninjutsu Capable

Some Constructs can be created to be capable of using Ninjutsu. This benefit only allows them to use techniques of the nature they are created from. Additionally, they cannot create other Constructs themselves.

When creating a construct with this benefit, pay the activation cost of the Jutsu before splitting your chakra into equal parts, spread amongst the created constructs. They will have their own pools in order to make use of ninjutsu.

When a ninjutsu capable construct is created, it does not replicate the user’s current buffs in battle. Also, if one of these constructs is destroyed, its chakra pool is lost. (won’t return to the user)

Stat Replication

Some Constructs can be created with the exact same attributes as their user, instead of following the normal limits of construct creation.

These constructs can only reach certain maximums depending on the rank of the jutsu used to make them.

StatreplicationConstruct.png

Sentience

Allows constructs to act as sentient creatures, the memories of which will return to the user upon destruction or deactivation. This also allows them to act separately from their user, being able to remain active no matter how far apart they are.

When combined with the Ninjutsu Capable benefit, this benefit gives the construct access to the user's entire Jutsu list, limited to what their stats can handle, unless further combined with stat replication. Additionally, it will enable them to create their own Constructs, but not any of the types that also have Sentience.

Like Ninken, sentient constructs — when separate from their user (in another scene or separate combat situation) — gain the full action pool of their user. If there is more than one at any given time, however, only one will gain the full action pool while the others will use the shared one.
